Sarah rounds up our activity supporting the 132nd Nottinghamshire County Show, one of the most prestigious county shows in the country
Getting up at the crack of dawn to mingle with livestock and heavy horses on a weekend isn’t normally on the cards for team Cartwright, but this weekend was an exception.
For the last six months we’ve been gearing up for the 132nd Nottinghamshire County Show; one of the longest running and most prestigious county shows in the country.
The two-day event has everything from heavy horses, fantastic farriery, sheep shearing, high-adrenaline motocross and freestyle BMX riding, an array of local food, cookery demonstrations, live music and the very best of Nottinghamshire’s heritage from a Victorian knitting machine to the civil war museum.
Armed with brollies and rain coats, the weather thankfully held off and we had a great time managing the press area and supporting the show team throughout the weekend. It’s not often we can see something as impressive as some of the UK’s best show jumping from one window and highlights from the show’s Main Ring from another in the press room.
It’s fair to say the weekend was a resounding success. The show featured on page three of The Times, we welcomed broadcast media from BBC and ITV, trade press and key local press also made an appearance to cover the event across both days – thankfully the rain did not!
