National restaurant group, Bistrot Pierre appointed Cartwright to launch its new Birmingham restaurant – its 15th location in the UK.


Capturing imaginations across Birmingham – and in particular the younger market – was crucial for this campaign and we wanted to create a buzz around the opening event online and with the media as well as using our little black book to ensure the VIP launch went with a bang.

We focussed on three campaign elements: creating two high-quality teaser videos for use across social media channels, media relations and support with the launch event – and delivering exceptional results.


The #BonjourBirmingham videos were a huge success online, tracking some 90,000 views across Facebook, Vimeo and YouTube, creating excitement among the target audience of younger people living in the city. We also encouraged IGers Birmingham before launch to showcase the restaurant on Instagram.

Our media relations activity attracted more than 50 pieces of coverage, including a ‘sneak peek’ with the Birmingham Mail ahead of opening night.

More than 150 Birmingham VIPs including local business people, online influencers and movers and shakers attended the launch event, which saw #BonjourBirmingham trending on Twitter in the West Midlands.
