BACKGROUND

Due to Covid-19, Nottinghamshire Pride 2020 was unable to hold its annual event on the streets of Nottingham city centre.

To ensure the city’s LGBTQ+ community was still able to celebrate together, Nottinghamshire Pride decided to create an online event – featuring live music, drag queens, speeches, and poetry recitals – that was streamed across its platforms for free.

OUR APPROACH

To gain interest and attract viewers, we issued a press release to the media announcing that Nottinghamshire Pride was going digital and liaised with journalists to set up multiple broadcast interviews for the Nottinghamshire Pride team to further promote the event.

We also updated the website to direct people towards the online event and created social media content that was posted across Nottinghamshire Pride’s social media channels, announcing the acts and telling people how they could tune in.

Results

  • An estimated reach of 2.7 million
  • More than 5,000 people tuned in to watch the show live
  • Secured broadcast interviews with BBC Radio Nottingham, ITV Central, Capital FM, Gem 106, Notts TV and BBC East Midlands Today
  • Secured local coverage in Nottinghamshire Live, Worksop Guardian, Lincolnshire Live, The Business Desk, Mansfield Chad and many more
  • We received more than 24,000 engagements on Nottinghamshire Pride’s social media channels.

Client Feedback…

Thank you so much. Your support was invaluable. All the help with the interviews and getting the event out there was brilliant. It made life so much easier!
