BACKGROUND

In October 2021, Gainsborough was announced as one of the places to receive Levelling Up funding from central government, with the Lincolnshire town given £10m to regenerate its market square and surrounding areas. After receiving additional funding to help market the plans, West Lindsey District Council contacted us to help deliver an intensive, six-week project.

APPROACH

Working alongside and supporting West Lindsey’s communications and inward investment team, we devised a series of content pieces to promote the Thriving Gainsborough project across various channels. As well as two long-form pieces of written content, we created a suite of social media assets, a promotional video and a brochure highlighting the investment opportunities in the town.

RESULTS

With a short turnaround to allow use of the funding, we worked at speed alongside the client to get advertorial placements for the long-form content, with the nationally focused article used as the front-page story for the April edition of Estates Gazette.

The video – which featured interviews with key figures from the town and CGIs of the proposed interventions – was used as part of an email marketing campaign and a refresh of Invest Gainsborough’s website, while the brochure has been used across several key events.
